Time for New Tires? Visit Your Hyundai` Dealer Today
Modern tires are strong and well designed. They’re manufactured from bands of polyester and steel covered in rubber. Strength is important, as they travel over a multitude of surfaces from the highway, to sand, to ice and will still work well. Tires, like every other component on a vehicle, will suffer wear and tear and will eventually need to be replaced. When you need new tires fitted, come and see your Hyundai dealer and we’ll replace them.
Vibrations When You Drive
Depending on the surface you’re driving on, vibrations may be perfectly normal. If you driving on rough terrain or unpaved roads you’d expect a slightly bumpier ride. If your car vibrates on the highway or a city street, this can be a sign that something is wrong. The source of the vibration could be due to a worn shock absorber or your tires may be misaligned and need to be realigned.
Another possibility is that your tire may need to be rebalanced, or the problem may be more serious. A slight separation can occur in a tire between the steel band in the center and the polyester bands on either side. If this happens the tire, unfortunately, can never be balanced and will have to be replaced.
No Traction
The tread on your tires is specially designed to grip the surface as you drive. A good grip allows you to drive easier and helps when you have to drive in wet, mud, or snow and ice. As your tires over the surface, the rubber treads will slowly wear down, and the more abrasive the surface the faster the wear. The grooves in the tread allow water, slush, and other liquids to escape from the tread and run away.
If your tread is severely worn, the grooves will start to disappear. The shallower the grooves on your tires, the less liquid runoff will occur. Without grooves, your car is at risk of hydroplaning on a wet or snowy surface. Hydroplaning occurs when the tires have a layer of water between them and the surface, and it’s extremely easy to lose control of your car. If your tires have shallow grooves or worse no grooves, they need to be changed immediately.
Driving on a Donut
If you’ve had a flat, and replaced it with the donut your car’s balance, suspension, and control will all be affected. The donut should be used only in an emergency and should be replaced by a normal tire ASAP. The donut is smaller and doesn’t have the strength and reinforcement of a regular tire. Donuts are manufactured to the minimum safety standard for a tire to be on the road.
As a general rule, a donut should be used 50-50, that is at a speed of no more than 50 mph and for no more than 50 miles.
For safety, if your tires are worn call our service department immediately at Crain Hyundai of North Little Rock.

Buying a car is a major purchase, but did you know that there are more profitable payment methods than others? Ownership, partial ownership, or rent-to-own payment plans like car financing through your Hyundai dealership are great ways to afford your dream car today without breaking the bank. You don’t have to buy outright to get all the perks of car ownership. Use this guide to learn about the many benefits of financing in Little Rock, AR for your next car purchase.
1. Financial Freedom
Imagine being able to purchase a car without having all your money tied down in the payments. Financing means that you can pay the lump sum off slowly and gradually as you can afford it comfortably. Liquid capital that isn’t tied down into your car purchase can be used to make you money through other investments or can be used for essential living expenses and bills.
2. Mileage Freedom
There’s nothing like driving down miles and miles of the outstretched open road, but many who lease vehicles can barely afford to commute to work. This is because of strict mileage caps on the cumulative distance you are allowed to travel for the duration of the lease term. Financing means that you get all the perks and benefits of ownership, meaning you don’t have strict mileage caps imposed on you.
Take a road trip and drive across the country. When you opt to finance through your local dealership, your car is yours for the driving.
3. Recoup Value on Payments
Equity is the primary reason so many people opt to finance rather than lease a vehicle. While leasing may occasionally offer lower monthly payments, you retain none of the value of what you’ve paid for at the end of the term. With financing, on the other hand, you end the process with a vehicle that has only lost value based on how you’ve driven it and how the economy has changed.
Drivers can then sell or trade the vehicle if they want, once the term is up, to recoup the partial value of what they paid.
4. Vehicles Built To Last
Financing through Hyundai is one of the best gifts a person can give to themselves. When you work with this dealership, you know you are getting trustworthy and dependable vehicles at competitive, affordable price points.
5. Make Yourself At Home
Those who lease their vehicle will be charged for every scratch, every modification, and every sign that the car has been used. This can make it hard to really feel comfortable in your new ride. The benefit of financing is that you are able to modify your car as you see fit, as you are the owner. There are no end fees for wear and tear or for modifications.
Financing is a great way to save yourself the financial burden of an outright lump sum payment, as well as to build equity and reap the benefits of car ownership. Working with your local Hyundai operation means high-quality vehicles with affordable payments. Visit Crain Hyundai to get your vehicle financing set up today.

Even with vehicle safety features, the little things matter. Hyundai offers major safety features, such as Smart Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind Spot Collision Warning. However, Hyundai has some less frequently discussed impressive safety features available that make a difference in your daily travel. You can choose the car safety features you want when you shop online at the website of your local Hyundai dealer.
Safe Exit Assist
You are at your destination, so you unlock the child-safety lock, and your children in the rear seat exit the vehicle. No safety features are needed here, right? Wrong! Opening the car door and stepping out can, at the very least, result in damage to the door. This concern occurred to Hyundai. So, whether you are parked by the curb or in a parking space, Hyundai’s Safe Exit Assist (SEA) protects rear passengers exiting your vehicle.
A button by the driver’s door lock activates the SEA. The SEA uses the Blind Spot Collision radar in the rear bumper to monitor approaching traffic. The SEA won’t allow the back doors to be unlocked if there is a danger. Besides protecting rear-seat passengers, it also protects approaching cyclists.
Ultrasonic Rear Occupant Alert
The Rear Occupant Alert (ROA) is activated if a rear door is opened before the vehicle is started. When the driver prepares to exit the car, the ROA reminds the driver to check the back seat. Unfortunately, this isn’t always enough. Children can get into unlocked vehicles on their own, and pets can slip in if a door is left open when the car is being unloaded. So Hyundai developed the Ultrasonic Rear Occupant Alert.
The Ultrasonic Rear Occupant Alert provides the standard reminder to check the rear seat. In addition, if the system detects motion in the back seats after the driver has left the vehicle, the system activates the horn, the lights, and sends a Blue Link alert to the driver’s smartphone.
Remote Smart Parking Assist
You see the perfect parking place, but once you pull into the place, you and your passengers won’t be able to get out of the car. Don’t worry. Hyundai offers Remote Smart Parking Assist (RPSA). Just pull up to the parking space, put your vehicle in park, select the RSPA button on the console, and you and your passengers can exit the car. You need to stay out of the vehicle’s path but within 13 feet of it.
Select the move forward button on your Smart Key and hold it down. Your vehicle will move forward up to 23 feet, steer to avoid objects, and stop if it can’t avoid an obstacle. Release the button, press remote start, and your vehicle will shift to park. To back your car out of the parking place, use the move backward button. Your vehicle will use the Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance system to avoid pedestrians and cars.
Protecting your family is important to you and Hyundai. For that reason, Hyundai offers all of the major safety features and also provides protection for the less frequently mentioned safety issues. To learn more about the safety features available on Hyundai vehicles, visit Crain Hyundai of North Little Rock. Our staff is available to answer all of your questions. You can also shop our new and used vehicles, apply for financing, and schedule maintenance.

3 Signs Your Hyundai Could Use an Alternator Repair
It’s a common misconception that the battery supplies all of the electricity a car needs. Without a working alternator, a car’s battery would never be able to recharge and would simply die once it’s used up its stored power. If your alternator goes bad in Little Rock, AR, visit your friendly Hyundai dealer and we can help with a repair or replacement. We’d like you to know some of the signs that you’ll need an alternator repair.
Starting Problems
Your battery provides the charge to start your ignition, and your battery is recharged by the alternator as you drive. If your alternator starts to wear, it becomes more difficult for it to fully recharge your battery. Starting your engine should be as easy as pushing a button or turning the key, but if the battery isn’t fully charged it can take longer to build up the necessary power.
A battery lasts up to 5 years before it needs to be replaced, and an old battery could be the cause of your car’s starting problem. if your battery is new, the most likely suspect is a failing alternator.
Check Battery Light
The check battery light should light up when your engine starts, and then switch off almost immediately. This is normal and means that your system is testing the various components and they’re working correctly. If the battery light stays on, this means that there is a problem with the electrical charging system.
Your alternator should produce a voltage of 13 to 14.5 volts, but a failing alternator will not be able to match that voltage. The battery light lights up if the voltage varies as a sign that something is wrong.
Stalling Problems
It can be very dangerous if your car stalls unexpectedly, especially if you are turning a corner at speed, or driving on the highway. The alternator provides all the electrical power for your car while the car is moving, but a weakening alternator generates less power than it should. If there is less electrical power available than required to power all the devices and components in your car, you’ll start to notice random electrical problems.
Your Hyundai’s computer has a safety feature to ensure that critical components always have priority if there is only limited electrical power available. This feature ensures that systems like the spark plugs will receive power even if it means that the CD player, for example, cannot work. A dying alternator may lose the ability to supply the spark plugs with power, and this means that they stop firing and your car will stop immediately.
Don’t let a bad alternator let you down when you need it most. If your alternator is weakening, call our service center right away at Crain Hyundai of North Little Rock. Our highly-trained technicians will have your car fixed and running perfectly again in a jiffy. We’re always here for you.

5 Reasons to Replace Your Car Air Filter Regularly
Your engine needs huge amounts of air for combustion, and that air must also be free from dirt and other contaminants. Your car air filter is essential for cleaning the air before it enters your car’s engine. As the filter traps more debris, it will start to clog up and it’ll need to be replaced. As your Hyundai dealer, we’d like you to know the reasons why you should regularly replace your filter.
Lower Emissions
Pollution is an unpleasant fact of life, but the more we can do to reduce it the better. A dirty air filter prevents enough clean air from reaching your engine, and without enough air in your engine, much of the fuel won’t burn. Unburnt fuel is forced out of your engine as black smoke. This smoke is more harmful to the environment than regular auto emissions due to the chemicals in unburnt fuel.
Reduces Engine Damage
By trapping dirt, dust, and other particles your air filter helps to prevent damage to your engine. The pistons, cylinders, and numerous other components can be damaged over time by dirt in the air. Particles of debris, over time, can abrade vital components and wear them out before their time. By regularly replacing your filter, you can increase the life of your engine.
Increased Efficiency
A poor air-fuel mix due to a clogged filter means that your engine wastes fuel that can’t be burnt. Fuel is expensive, and by replacing your air filter regularly you can reduce your fuel consumption. Studies have shown that regularly replacing your filter can lead to an increase in fuel mileage by up to 15%. Fuel-injected engines can also potentially increase their acceleration rate.
Does Your Hyundai Need a Radiator Repair?
Your car’s radiator is a vital part of your engine cooling system. Hot coolant flows into the radiator, the coolant is cooled by airflow through the radiator grille, and the coolant flows back to start the cycle again. Without a radiator, your car would not be able to control the temperature in the engine and it would overheat. To prevent serious damage to your car, as your Hyundai dealer in Little Rock, AR we want you to know the signs you may need a radiator repair.
Radiator Rust
Rust on the radiator is caused by leaking fluid in the engine. The cooling system is pressurized and operates at a high temperature, and any damage to the cooling system can cause hot coolant to spray out onto the radiator. The damage could be from a worn radiator cap, a punctured hose, or even damage to the radiator itself. The coolant will dry in the heat of the engine, but it will cause rust that will start to eat into the radiator.
Rust is easy to check by opening the hood and examining your radiator. If you see patches of rust, we will need to replace the radiator.
Failed Water Pump
The water pump pumps coolant throughout the engine to the radiator and back again. All mechanical parts can wear out, and if the water pump fails it will no longer circulate coolant and the engine temperature will rise dramatically. If your car’s temperature rises rapidly, and it’s accompanied by a grinding sound, the most likely cause is a worn pump bearing.
It is quick and inexpensive to replace the pump, and we advise contacting our service department ASAP. An engine that overheats can result in serious and very expensive repairs.
Is It Time for Your Hyundai to Get a Brake Repair?
Brakes are an essential component of your car, but one that can be easily forgotten. They work by creating friction with your tires to allow them to slow down and come to a stop. This friction, however, also causes them to wear out. For safe, stress-free driving your brakes must always work when you need them to. As your Hyundai dealer in Little Rock, AR these are some of the signs that you may need to visit us for a brake repair.
High-Pitched Screeching From the Brakes
A screeching sound from the brakes sounds awful and frightening, but it is a first warning that your brake pads are wearing thin. The sound is made by a small piece of metal built into the pads that signal that they need to be changed soon. When you hear this sound, don’t panic as your brakes are not about to fail, just call our service center and we will replace the pads for you.
Brake Light Comes On
As with any warning light, it is easy to ignore. This light is a sign that there is a problem with your braking system that has been detected by your car’s sensors. The problem may be a simple as needing more brake fluid, or it could be mean that there is a more serious problem. For safety, contact our technicians ASAP and we will investigate and fix the problem.
Slow Stopping
If you find that your brakes are slow to stop, this is potentially very dangerous. Your brakes should apply as soon as you depress the brake pedal, and any delay means that there is an issue with the braking system. Our technicians will check your brakes, and the issue is usually either a brake fluid leak or a leak in the air hose.
