2023 Hyundai Kona

The four trim levels for the 2023 Hyundai Kona include SE, SEL, N Line, and Limited. The entry-level SE features eight exterior color options and a gray interior for all colors. If you're looking for a bit of variety in the exterior colors, the SEL delivers with contrasting roof and body color for the blue, red, and silver paint colors. Alloy wheels are standard on all trims with the SE getting 16-inch wheels, 17-inch wheels for the SEL, and 18-inch wheels for the N Line and Limited trims.

The 2023 Hyundai Kona features two different engine options that include an MPI-Atkinson 2.0 liter V-4 and a turbo-GDI four-cylinder. The MPI-Atkinson engine delivers 147 horsepower at 6200 rpm and 195 horsepower at 1500 to 4500 rpm. Idle stop-and-go comes standard with both engines.

Fuel economy for the MPI-Atkinson comes in at 30 mpg highway/35 mpg city and 32 combined for the FWD model and 28 mpg highway/33 city and 30 combined for the AWD. The turbo-GDI engine gets the same fuel economy for highway and combined, but achieves 29 mpg for city driving.

All trim levels of the 2023 Hyundai Kona come with FWD as standard and has AWD as an available option. The SE and SEL are equipped with an intelligent variable transmission (IVT), while the N Line and Limited get a seven-speed EcoShift dual-clutch transmission. All trim levels get a selectable drive mode as standard.

The entry-level SE is nicely appointed with details that include an 8-inch color touchscreen infotainment system, Bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. It also has a 4.2-inch color LCD display as part of its instrument cluster and analog gauges. Step up to the SEL to gain access to the Bluelink-connected car system, enjoy an eight-way power driver seat, and a convenience package that includes a power sunroof. The Kona features two front USB outlets and a rear USB outlet as standard.

The 2023 Hyundai Kona comes nicely equipped with a wide range of safety features and driver-assist technologies. All trim levels come standard with a blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, lane following assist, lane keeping assist, driver attention warning, safe exit warning, and rear occupant alert. Forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection comes standard on the Limited trim.

All trim levels get a four-wheel anti-lock braking system, electronic stability control with traction control support and brake assist, vehicle stability management, front, side-impact, and side-curtain airbags, and bodyside reinforcements.
